JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Assistant Controller is responsible for performing many of the day-to-day activities of the Accounting Department. This includes but is not limited to the following: Directing month-end closing activities; Preparing and reviewing month-end account reconciliation’s; Responsible for audits of the accounting department; Oversees members of the accounting staff; Performing special projects as directed by the CFO, VP of Finance and Controller. The Assistant Controller must also support the facility’s Standards of Performance and ICARE values.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a senior level accounting position preferred.
  • Medicare and third-party payer knowledge helpful.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the use of personal computers.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operations, projects and audits of the accounting department.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the facility financial statements both monetary and statistics.
  • Oversee members of the accounting staff.
  • Direct the month-end close process.
  • Provide input for annual job evaluations for staff.
