To accomplish this mission, more than two hundred staff across various disciplines are committed to sharing the Gospel and Bible Strong teaching through Turning Point. Position Summary: The Assistant Controller plays a key role in supporting the financial integrity and stewardship of the ministry. This position assists the Controller in overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting compliance with nonprofit and regulatory requirements. The Assistant Controller partners closely with leadership to ensure financial practices align with the mission, values, and biblical principles of the organization. Responsibilities: Accounting & Financial Operations Assist in overseeing the general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close processes Review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness Support preparation of internal financial reports for leadership and the Board Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Ensure proper accounting treatment of restricted and unrestricted funds Compliance & Controls Help maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and applicable federal and state regulations Assist with annual audits, including preparation of schedules and coordination with external auditors Support preparation of required filings, as needed Systems & Process Improvement Support accounting systems, processes, and documentation to improve efficiency and accuracy Assist in implementing and maintaining best practices for financial management Provide guidance and training to accounting staff, as appropriate Core Competencies: Spiritual Leadership: Demonstrates a Christ-centered approach to work and relationships. The actual compensation offered will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, skills, and location. In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package.
