A great UHY client is seeking a Assistant Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, very advanced Excel skills, SAP skills, and the ability to figure things out.
The Senior Staff Accountant role is an onsite position. This is a client direct hire position.

SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a financial function, manufacturing preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Must have previous SAP experience or other large ERP software experience.
  • Proficient advanced computer skills, knowledge in Microsoft (Word, Excel)

    - Proficient advanced computer-based application software: manufacturing software/databases (OneStream or HFM a plus).

Responsibilities
  • Assist with directing and coordinating all activities of employees involved with financial reporting to ensure the proper recording and safeguarding of company assets in accordance with audit requirements.
  • Assist with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance efforts, through training process owners, providing assistance with documentation, performing reviews, completing annual testing and walk throughs.
  • Analyze monthly balance sheet and reconcile and review for minimum control requirements.
  • Ensure development, continual improvement and adherence to all accounting department processes and procedures, including both accounting systems and individual position procedures.
  • Oversee and provide accurate and timely period month-end, quarterly, and annual close and subsequent reporting requirements.
  • Prepare required management information, financial records for the operations, both to division GM, AGM, and corporate office.
  • Facilitate an appropriate work environment within the Finance department and between the department and other work groups.
  • Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.
