Description

Our client, a manufacturing company located in the USA is looking for an Assistant Controller (Canada/USA Remote) to join their team.
Some one with experience with US and Canadian tax laws.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE:

  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights and recommendations to Corporate Controller
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate external audits and assist in tax preparation and filings.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes and reporting systems.
  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements and automation initiatives.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation or pursuit thereof is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant controller capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems; experience with ERP systems D365 an important asset
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
