Job Title: Assistant Controller   Job Title: Assistant Controller Department & Department Number: 110 – Admin & Accounting   Directly Reports To: Chief Financial Officer  FLSA Status: Salary Exempt  SUMMARY of our Cultural Beliefs:  Be Dependable.    I am loyal to the team and committed to the Bluejack mission and experience.  Integrity First.   I am accountable to be honest and always do the right thing.  Value People.    I empathize and respect others.  Speak Up.    I seek, listen and provide candid feedback to improve performance.  Empowerment.    I have the skills, resources and authority to create memorable experiences.  Be Remarkable.    I seek ways to be extraordinary and deliver a positive impact every day.    Essential Duties and Responsibilities   The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:  * Coordinates with and prepares financial reports and analysis for upper management  * Assisting Financial Managers with budgeting  * Managing all aspects of the general ledger, works to reconcile accounting imbalances  * Ensuring all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and established accounting principles  * Assisting with billing and tax documentation preparation  * Working with the company financial team to create internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP  * Serving as a liaison to external auditors and preparations for audits  * Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records  * Assist CFO with all other duties as assigned.   Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)     To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   * Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations and best practices  * Excellent understanding of governmental guidelines, tax laws that affect the company  * Highly organized with keen attention to detail  * Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving  * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills  * Proficient in basic office and accounting software programs  * Collaboration and teamwork skills  * At least 3 years experience in Corporate accounting functionality  EDUCATION:   * Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a closely related field required. Master's degree preferred.  * Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required   * Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or CGMA is a plus  * Well-developed technical proficiencies, including advanced Excel, accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle), ERP experience.  LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:   Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and meet the driver safety policy requirements.   Physical Demands and Work Environment    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
