POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Controller position will lead the accounting activities ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and providing financial support to the Vernet US organization. This role’s primary responsibility is to prepare financial reporting and analysis to support decision-making and assist in implementing and monitoring of internal controls.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proven experience in financial planning & analysis.
  • Prior experience with Epicor is a plus, but in-depth knowledge of ERP systems is essential.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a vast range of responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Certifications: CPA or CMA certification required

Responsibilities
  • Complete all day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the Company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory management, and banking activities ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Support cash flow management and implementation of cash flow estimate tool.
  • Manage month-end close activities, including the accurate recording of journal entries and completion of reconciliations, especially bank accounts.
  • Execute all requirements assigned by the Company’s external auditors and tax team accurately and timely.
  • Preparation and submittal of all tax declarations and statutory filings required
  • Implement and monitor internal controls in all financial reporting processes
  • Ensure all accounting policies and procedures for financial reporting and operational efficiency are being followed. Implement new policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Perform the company budgeting and financial planning processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support business initiatives.
  • Assist in audits, banking relationships, and insurance matters.
  • Improve and implement accounting processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy
  • Review P&L activity and ensure timely and accurate monthly accruals.
  • Handle sales tax filings and work directly with our tax preparers.
