JOB DESCRIPTION

Vizance, an independent insurance agency with locations throughout Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Minnesota, is seeking an Assistant Controller to join a growing, dynamic organization.
This position, based out of our headquarters in Hartland, is largely hands-on and requires a roll up your sleeves mind-set. The Assistant Controller will support the Controller in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and enhancing efficiency.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO VIZANCE

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • CPA designation preferred
  • High level of expertise in Excel, including proficiency with macros, lookups, and pivot tables
  • Substantial financial background
  • Strong modeling and data manipulation capabilities
  • Outstanding communication skills

Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparing and analyzing income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, at the corporate, branch, and department levels
  • Assist with performing all month-end, quarterly, and year-end functions at both the branch and corporate levels, and prepare appropriate reports
  • Review and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Ensure accurate journal entries and appropriate cost allocations
  • Assist with preparations for audits
  • Reconcile accounting inaccuracies
  • Monitor and enforce system of internal controls
  • Recommend process improvements
  • Assist with tax preparation and other annual reporting requirements
