We are currently recruiting for a Bank Assistant Cook to support our Head Cook and to cover in their absence.
As an Assistant cook you will prepare and serve nutritious meals that suit our residents dietary requirements whilst maintaining a clean and well organised kitchen.

Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. You will take full responsibility for the running of the Kitchen in the absence of the Head Cook.
  2. Working alongside the Head Cook, you will be responsible for Menu Creation and the daily preparation, cooking and serving of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner along with provision of a selection of drinks and snacks throughout the day and preparation of evening suppers.
  3. You will take ownership of any issues that arise and work in conjunction with the Head Cook and Home Manager to manage the kitchen team accordingly.
  4. You will be responsible for all food orders and meeting the budgetary requirements of the home whilst ensuring the provision of nutritious meals to meet varied dietary needs, as requested by the Home Manager.
  5. To ensure the efficient, hygienic and safe use of the kitchen equipment.
  6. To discuss with the residents/registered nursing staff in order to establish menus of a nutritionally balanced and varied nature, taking into consideration any special dietary requirements.
  7. To maintain sufficient levels of food in stock and ordering when required.
  8. To prepare, cook and serve meals ensuring high standards of food and presentation are achieved.
  9. To clean all surfaces, equipment and dishes with help from the Kitchen assistant.
