Dolce Ltd is a national school meals caterer providing freshly made school meals across the UK. A family business, we value our reputation for delicious school dinners and reward those that enhance this reputation.

Main Responsibilities :

  • Ensure the smooth delivery of Dolce Services to the school(s)
  • Food preparation and cooking
  • Taking on a leadership role in the event of the Kitchen Supervisors absence
  • Setting up and clearing away tables, chairs and equipment
  • Sweeping and mopping the dining area at end of service
  • Cleaning kitchen surfaces, cupboards, tables and equipment
  • Washing dishes, cutlery, containers, etc
  • Ensuring equipment is maintained correctly
  • Maintaining good food hygiene, health & safety, and security in the kitchen
  • General catering duties following the method described in the Kitchen Folder
  • Assist the Kitchen Supervisor in checking in of deliveries of catering and cleaning materials
  • Routine administration duties and reconciliation of cash
  • Participation in all Company mandatory training requirements
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time

The ideal candidate will have :

  • Previous catering/cooking experience in a similar environment is desirable
  • An awareness of health, safety and security in the kitchen (further training will be given to the successful candidate)
  • Ability to communicate positively and politely with a range of stakeholders, including young students.
  • An awareness of the main allergens, and allergen control procedures
  • Ability to work well in a team and on own initiative
  • Ability to adapt to change and take on different tasks as and when required.
  • A DBS check will be required (cost covered by Dolce).

You must have an awareness of hygiene, health & safety and security in the kitchen. GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are desired for this position.
The role is offered on a permanent basis, Monday- Friday, during term-time and is subject to the applicant’s eligibility to work in the UK and a successful enhanced DBS clearance.
