We are a Charity, providing great quality, nutritious meals to children in schools throughout Southampton. We want to hear from enthusiastic people who really want to make a difference to the lunchtime experience of every child!
You would be working during all term times, Monday to Friday, and of course, the role is subject to your eligibility to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check.
THE HOURLY RATE IS £11.92 PER HOUR.
Key responsibilities include assisting the Head of Kitchen in the preparation, cooking and service of food to the children at lunchtimes, as well as for any special functions.
You’ll need to have solid experience for this kind of role in both service and food preparation and cooking as you’ll be expected to run the unit in the absence of the Head of Kitchen.
You’ll also need to have at least a Level 2 certificate in food safety and some understanding of allergen foods.
Training is given on site, but ideally we need a self-starter who can get stuck in, so preference for interviews will be given to those that have very similar experience.
An existing valid Enhanced DBS is also very desirable!
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to undergo an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which is covered by the Charity if you pass probation.
We are actively seeking to increase diversity within our organisation and would greatly welcome interest from people of all genders, with direct experience of food poverty, from a black or minority ethnic background and/or with a disability.
