Main purpose/objective of post:
We are seeking a fluent French and English speaker to join our Credit Management team as an Assistant Credit Controller – France on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in credit control within a large, fast-paced distribution business.
The successful candidate will support the maintenance of the French sales ledger, working closely with the Credit Controller and under daily task guidance. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth customer communications and supporting credit processes, with a strong focus on delivering excellent service to our French customer base.

Under the daily guidance of the Credit Controller, you will assist with:

  • Managing French customer accounts within the sales ledger as part of a larger team
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships to deliver outstanding service
  • Supporting credit control processes to ensure high cash flow and reduced overdue debt
  • Collaborating with internal teams to resolve customer account discrepancies promptly
  • Appropriately allocating customer payments and managing related queries
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of customer account details
  • Performing general administrative duties as directed to support credit management operations

Core Competencies and Skills

  • Language Skills: Fluent in French and English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently
  • IT Proficiency: Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; able to quickly learn internal systems

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
