Balmoral Hall is an independent school for girls from Junior Nursery to Grade 12.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively engage and communicate with adolescent girls
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to secure the cooperation of others to achieve a common goal
  • Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and carry out events and activities that enrich the boarding experience for the boarding students
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking and good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain composure and cope when faced with unexpected with new situations and unexpected difficulties
  • Ability to take charge and motivate others
  • Must have an appreciation and sensitivity to different cultures
  • Ability to understand and respond to boarding organizational needs and looks for opportunities to improve the boarding experience for each student.
  • Must have Class 4 driver’s license.
    Education and Experience: Post-secondary education in the human services and at least 2-3 years’ direct experience working with youth or an equivalent combination of education and experience combination.
    Successful applicants must provide satisfactory criminal record and child abuse registry background checks.

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining a supportive, safe and healthy living environment for all boarders;
  • Ensuring compliance with all boarding housekeeping, health, safety and respectful workplace guidelines;
  • Providing direction and support to boarding assistants;
  • Acting as a mentor and role model to students and boarding assistants;
  • Ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of boarders during their shift;
  • Providing support and assistance to boarders in all areas of their activities of daily living
