ASSISTANT DESIGNER

Kingcome Sofas are a long established and highly regarded manufacturer of luxury upholstered furniture, made in our workshop near Bovey Tracey in Devon.
We are renowned for our designs, quality of workmanship, and bespoke work.
We are seeking to recruit for the new role of Assistant Designer.
This is a genuine and interesting opportunity to contribute positively to the business, and to carve out your own niche.

The role and skills

• An eye for design, and an interest in upholstered furniture
• Previous experience would be beneficial but not essential
• CAD design skills using Solidworks / Fusion 360 / Autocad/ Adobe Illustrator
• Meeting deadlines for drawings
• Ability to convert hand drawings in to digital format
• Produce Line drawings for clients
• Produce scale frame drawings for workshop
• Liaison with customers and with our skilled work force

The Person

• Self motivated , this is particularly important as you will have to self manage your time in line with requirements
• Positive and enthusiastic
• A willingness to learn all aspects of furniture making
• Excellent communication skills, both with customers and colleagues
