The Corporate Owned Channel team are responsible for Unilever’s corporate websites and social media channels, producing and distributing best-in-class global content. We thrive on creating brilliant digital experiences on our websites to engage our visitors to connect with us and build trust in Unilever.

We are looking for a brilliant Assistant Digital Channels Manager to work within our team. Your expertise will help to manage small and large-scale digital projects all aiming at constantly improving our channels and helping to effectively engage our audiences.
You will support the effective engagement of our network of website editors around the world. In turn you will help innovate and improve the standard of our 50+ corporate websites.
This role also involves collaborating closely with key stakeholders across the business – for example, with teams in the markets, Media Relations, and IT.
What will you be doing?
As Assistant Digital Channels Manager you will be responsible for:
Strategic network development
- Managing Unilever’s corporate website network, supporting the strategy and ongoing governance, with special focus on maintaining high website standards and quality content
- Working closely with priority market website editors and the Senior Owned Channels Manager to develop strategic roadmaps and identify opportunities to improve performance and user experience
- Supporting priority sites to develop organic content and working closely with agency partners to optimise content for search
- Providing support and training to develop and enhance editor’s website management and digital skills through self-service tools and online training including how-to guides, advice, best practice guidelines and training materials
- Developing regular performance reports measuring against KPIs with a focus on insights to support continuous innovation, staying 3 steps head of digital best practice
- Supporting the ongoing governance for the market social media network
Best practice website management
- Project management of a variety of work streams, ranging from new site developments to publishing financial results to supporting content updates on Unilever.com and across the network
- Leading and managing ad-hoc projects as they arise on Unilever.com and market sites, for example rolling out the new visual identity or innovation proof of concepts (POCs) collaborating closely with stakeholders and agencies for successful delivery of projects
- Managing the roll-out of new tools and technologies, global campaigns and content, and network efficiencies. This will involve working across multiple languages and cultures
- Be a point of contact for our content support agency, attending weekly status calls to ensure support is fully operational and running at optimal levels
- Ensuring our corporate website network continues to strive for best practice accessibility and performance standards through the monitoring and managing of issues
- Reporting on market websites’ performance including maintaining analytics dashboards
- Managing website issues and raising them through the necessary channels. Being able to prioritise based on business needs and the sprint/development team capacity.
A trusted advisor and digital channels expert
- Acting as the main point of contact and subject matter expert for website editors on a day-to-day basis, answering questions and providing guidance on effective website management on topics such as governance, standards, content, SEO, accessibility, usability, analytics, and measurement
- On-boarding new market website editors ensuring they have access to the relevant tools for effective website management
- Managing stakeholder and market site editor and owner contact and distribution lists, ensuring all new joiners are provided with an onboarding session and induction to all tools
- Proactively developing and running support and knowledge sharing sessions for website editors
What experience and skills will you bring?
Essential:
- Managing external communications, including on websites and/or social media channels
- Digital channel management experience and content development
- Excellent stakeholder management, relationship-building and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, seeking guidance where needed while considering the bigger picture
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise in high pace environments with tight deadlines
- 100% reliability and ability to manage confidential information
- Strong organisation/planning skills
- Flexible approach and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the Corporate Owned Channels team’s work
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the importance of usability, accessibility and SEO in website design and content production
- Experience with external CMS, such as Sanity or WordPress
- Working knowledge of data analytics tools GA4, Looker Studio, PowerBi
- Familiar with project management principle and tools such as JIRA
- Managing large-scale networks of sites and monitoring site standards
- Working in a global or multi-region role
