Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

Stockport is an ambitious developing borough being recently sighted as one of the best places to live in England. We are a socioeconomically diverse borough which brings both challenges and opportunities for our Adults Social Care off in Stockport. This role will be responsible for a significant part of Adult Social Care, your role will be accountable to the Director of Adult Social Care (DASS)
You will have extensive experience in both Adult Social Care Operational Practice and Commissioning. You will know and understand the opportunities and challenges in the Borough of Stockport and be able to demonstrate your expertise in working collaboratively with health and other partners. You will also have significant demonstrable knowledge in leading change as well as supporting national inspection frameworks.

In this role you will:

  • Lead work with commissioners and key partners across the Health & Social Care Economy to ensure that provision is geared to prevent, reduce or delay the need for statutory provision.
  • The role will lead on developing an all age approach to commissioning for Stockport Council
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders in Health, ICB, Public Health, Commissioning and other key partners to ensure that our commissioning strategy supports our vision, ensures equity of access, is of high quality and delivers VFM.
  • Provide clear leadership and effective management of the Adult Social Care Service working closely with the Assistant Director of ASC Operations and DASS
  • Provide vision and strategic direction for the service in a period of significant change, shaping transformational change via appropriate plans and strategies.
  • Propose and implement policies and initiatives to improve the lives of people with care and support needs in Stockport.
  • To provide assurance around the planning, quality and sufficiency of care provision for people with care and support needs in Stockport as per statutory requirements
  • Develop effective working relationships and form collaborative internal and external partnerships.
  • Support and influence partners and communities to achieve a whole system approach to health and social care integration
