THE ROLE
We are seeking an outstanding candidate to lead and manage staff across multiple sites to deliver complex calculations tasks, lead the development of team and individual capabilities and build and foster effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
To be effective in this role you will have demonstrated experience in managing and leading a team, the ability to foster and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, excellent communication and influencing skills, and be able to drive performance.
TYPICAL DUTIES
The typical duties of the Assistant Director, Calculations / Senior Data Analyst include, however, are not limited to:
- Leading a geographically dispersed team, managing change and driving team and individual performance to achieve results
- Leading the design and development of complex data analysis models and/or refining existing calculations solutions using R, Power BI, Power Query and Excel
- Leading the delivery of automated calculation solutions on large and complex payroll records to support investigations
- Building and enhancing in-house calculations capability both individually and within the team, via delivering structured group training and/or coaching sessions
- Leading and encouraging innovation across the team
- Ensuring the team maintains accurate reporting, metrics, documentation, and continually improving processes
- Working with the Director and Team Leaders to plan, co-ordinate, implement and manage the team’s work program, including allocating matters, forward planning, prioritising work and balancing resources
- Effectively managing competing work priorities to meet tight deadlines and deliver on the OFWO’s business priorities
- Proactively identify and manage risks.

To be successful in the role you will have the following attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in leading a geographically dispersed team and building capability, including developing new technical skills and solutions
- Ability to lead, design, develop and deliver high-quality, end-to-end technical solutions for complex data analysis models and calculation solutions, which includes the analysis and quality control of large data sets and associated processes
- Ability to identify opportunities to create technical solutions or processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of calculations
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results, make decisions and provide clear direction
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate and explain complex information to a range of audiences
- Experience in developing and fostering productive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and influencing to achieve outcomes
