Description Camp – Assistant Director SUPERVISOR: Camp Director DEPARTMENT: Camp FLSA STATUS: Seasonal LAST UPDATED: 02/04/2025 LEADERSHIP SUMMARY The Camp Assistant Director will infuse and model the Girl Scout Law into their everyday work to fulfill the mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. POSITION SUMMARY The Camp Assistant Director is accountable for camp programs, food, and administrative support for all camp staff. Provides supervision of the kitchen and camp staff. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES · Leads staff when Camp Director is unavailable · Coordinates with Camp Director on staff training and evaluations · Approves and organizes offsite trips · Address any challenges that may arise · One-on-One meetings with staff · Prepares all ACA documentation at the end of the season · Complete documentation designated by the Camp Director · Attends orientation week · Attends staff meetings · Participates in camp activities as needed · Follows camp rules and policies · Maintains a positive attitude and professionalism with campers, parents, volunteers, and staff SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITIES Staff: Assist Camp Director with supervision of Unit Leaders and Camp Counselors Committee(s): None KNOWLEDGE AND CREDENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Required · Bachelor’s degree in a related field or related experience · 2-3 years program implementation preferred · 2-3 years of supervisory experience preferred · Experience working with youth · Knowledge of Girl Scout Leadership Experience preferred · First Aid and CPR certification preferred ABILITY AND SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS · Membership with GSUSA and Subscribes to the principles of the Girl Scout Movement · Demonstrate ability to successfully manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines. · Strong human relations skills and ability to work well with others of diverse cultures · Ability to exercise good judgement · Excellent written and oral communication skills · Solution-driven with the ability to effectively problem-solve SCHEDULE AND LODGING · Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings Flexibility to live on a campsite during the entire camp
