We hold around 100kms of hard copy records and 600,000 digital records dating from 1836 right up to the present day.Our impressive collection includes records of immigration and shipping, criminal trials and prisons, premiers and governors, royal commissions, boards of inquiry, wills and probates and much more. These records hold stories of the key events and decisions that have shaped the history of the State of Victoria.Established under the Public Records Act 1973 our objectives are to:
  • issue and advise on standards regulating the creation, maintenance and security of public records
  • preserve public records of permanent value
  • ensure that the archives are accessible

ABOUT THE ROLEThe Assistant Director, Corporate Services is responsible for the strategic management and leadership of all business services that support Public Record Office Victoria (PROV).This hands-on position is responsible for leading a results oriented Corporate Services team and providing authoritative advice to the Director and Executive team on all aspects of corporate and business matters, including budget and finance, risk, facilities, technology services, communications and marketing, strategic planning and reporting.This role is a member of the PROV Executive team and is responsible for delivering the outcomes set out in corporate and business plans while acting as a role model for our values and behaviours.The incumbent has an integral role in raising PROV’s profile by building positive networks with key stakeholders and is expected to represent PROV across senior levels of Victorian Government.ABOUT YOUAs our ideal candidate you will:

  • A relevant formal qualification is desirable
  • A strong understanding of the nuances of working in government
  • Experience in managing a corporate or business function is highly desirable
  • Experience in managing a small team of diverse roles
