Description Job Purpose and Objectives: Responsible for assisting the building and grounds manager in all aspects of the operation and maintenance of buildings and building systems for Montgomery County. Five years of training in building maintenance systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience 3. Ability to be fingerprinted and pass a background check Certifications / Licenses: 1. Valid Driver’s License Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: 1. Ability to read and interpret documents such as code books, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals 2. Ability to figure square footage 3. Selects, supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processes employee concerns and problems, directs work, counsels, disciplines, and completes employee performance appraisals Opens buildings and checks for needed maintenance and janitorial services Operates and maintains refrigeration system for building air-conditioning Assists with the repair, maintenance and installation of plumbing systems as needed Operates and maintains heating system, including gas fired boilers start-up and shut down and building ventilation systems Assembles, installs and repairs pipes, fittings and fixtures for heating, water and drainage systems according to current specifications and codes Assists with the repair, maintenance and installation of electrical systems as needed Oversees court services maintenance on third floor of Coffeyville City Hall (with the exception of the small courtroom) Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems Enforces and maintains compliance with all federal, state and local laws and ordinances Performs other duties as assigned or deemed necessary Complies with all organizational and departmental policies and procedures Operates all job-related equipment, machinery, tools and other aids as required or needed Protects and maintains any confidential information you have access to, whether oral, written, or electronic Supervisory/Management Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the supervision/leadership of employees, which includes making employment-related decisions and/or recommendations, and formally evaluating performance.
