Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) is ranked among the world’s top universities. The VP (AI & Digital Economy) Office designs and implements NTU’s AI strategy, which includes exploring how AI can be integrated into NTU’s daily functions to strengthen and optimise processes. For example, the office will advance AI initiatives to further personalise learning, support faculty who want to leverage AI in their work, and harness data-driven resource allocation.
We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Manager/Assistant Director to join the VP (AI & Digital Economy) Office. In this pivotal role, you will manage and execute high-impact initiatives, including international and national AI competitions, cross-functional AI projects, and the establishment of AI-driven solutions. REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution; advanced degrees are advantageous.
  • At least 6 to 10 years of experience in project management, event organization, and/or stakeholder engagement, ideally in a higher education or technology-focused environment.
  • Ability to multitask and manage complex initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral), with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse functions.
  • Familiarity with AI applications and strategic institutional initiatives is a plus.

Responsibilities:

International Olympiad in AI (IOAI)

  • Main coordinator to fulfil NTU’s role as the country coordinator for the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI), including timeline planning, coordinating with trainers (faculty members) and relevant NTU departments to deliver selection test, trainings, and residential camp for Singapore’s national team.
  • Collaborate with AI Singapore (AISG) to ensure the successful delivery of the National Olympiad in AI (NOAI).
  • Synchronize NOAI and IOAI timelines and maintain up-to-date information on the IOAI Singapore website.

Initiative Management and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with both technical and non-technical teams to deliver AI-driven initiatives to enhance research, education, and administrative efficiency.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to identify use cases, collect data, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Serve as the meeting secretariat and project manager for emerging initiatives, providing coordination, monitor progress, and review deliverables of activities to ensure that work plans and timelines are fulfilled.
  • Conduct preliminary research on best practices and potential implementation strategies.
  • Compile and summarize research findings for leadership review.
  • Assist in formulating and developing policies, guidelines and procedures that support the roll-out of initiatives.

AI-for-Science (AI4A) Programme Office

  • Facilitate the establishment and operation of the AI4S Programme Office, coordinating with the National Research Foundation (NRF) and other stakeholders.

Administrative Support & Record Management

  • Establish and maintain an effective documentation and record-keeping system to ensure operational continuity.
  • Prepare well-designed and informative presentation materials for senior leadership.

Event Planning & Coordination

  • Coordinate logistical arrangement for university-, national- and international-level events in relation to the office’s objective / projects / initiatives.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Coordinate timelines, budgets, and logistics, including recruitment and management of volunteers.
