  Now Hiring: Assistant Director – Martha & Mary Kids  Location: Poulsbo or Silverdale, WA Schedule: Full-Time (40 hrs./week) | On-Site | Monday–Friday Compensation: $22.25 - $25.79 depending on applicable education and experience  Are you an inspiring early childhood education leader ready to shape young minds and support dedicated educators? If you’re ready to make a meaningful impact in an organization that values community, innovation, and excellence—this is your opportunity.  What You’ll Do: As the Assistant Director, you’ll be a key leader in the daily operations of our early learning program, ensuring a nurturing, educational, and compliant environment. You’ll work closely with the Center Director and Program Supervisor to guide curriculum planning, mentor staff, and maintain the highest standards in child care and development. Your role includes: * Assisting the Director with administrative tasks such as record keeping, child files, filing, outreach, audits and waitlist management  * Supervising and supporting classroom teachers and assistants  * Overseeing curriculum implementation and developmental appropriateness, in partnership with the Program Supervisor  * Providing staff with professional development, mentoring, and performance feedback, in partnership with the Director & Program Supervisor  * Ensuring compliance with Washington State licensing and Early Achievers standards * Maintaining a welcoming, clean, safe and inclusive learning environment  * Communicating and collaborating with families and providing excellent customer service  * Acting as the Center’s leader in the Director’s absence, in partnership with the Program Supervisor  What We’re Looking For: A dedicated, experienced educator and natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Required Qualifications: * At least ECE State Certificate or approved equivalent * At least 2 years of teaching experience with children in early learning settings * Strong knowledge of child development and emergent curriculum implementation  * Washington State DEL background clearance * Valid Food Handler’s Permit and First Aid/CPR Certification * Exceptional communication, planning, and problem-solving skills * Proficiency with computer systems for scheduling, invoicing, and reporting * Ability to lift and carry children and engage in classroom activities as needed  Bonus Points for: * Prior administrative or supervisory experience in child care * Experience with Early Achievers or similar quality frameworks * Bilingual abilities   Why Join Us?
