This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced early childhood educator, instructional coach, or lead teacher who is ready to step into a leadership role supporting curriculum implementation, teacher development, classroom quality, and compliance across all programs. You will work closely with the Director of Education to elevate practice, ensure alignment with RIELDS, DCYF licensing standards, and BrightStars (QRIS) expectations, and create a positive, collaborative culture for children, families, and staff. Key Responsibilities Program Quality & Compliance Support daily center operations to maintain full compliance with DCYF regulations, ratios, health & safety standards, and documentation requirements. Assist with preparation for inspections, licensing visits, and BrightStars quality assessments. Ensure consistent implementation of organizational policies, procedures, and safety practices. Curriculum & Instructional Leadership Collaborate with educators to implement developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) and research-based frameworks such as: Creative Curriculum, Reggio Emilia, Montessori, HighScope, STEAM, SEL, PBIS/Conscious Discipline, and trauma-informed care. Support curriculum planning, weekly lesson plan development, and classroom environments aligned to RIELDS. Strengthen instructional quality through modeling, co-teaching, and curriculum coaching. Educator Coaching & Professional Growth Conduct classroom walkthroughs and provide actionable feedback. Develop individualized professional development plans and support teachers in meeting professional competencies. Facilitate staff training, workshops, and reflective coaching cycles. Assessment & Data-Informed Decision Making Support the use of Teaching Strategies GOLD, observation tools, and assessment systems to track child progress. Assist with data analysis to inform curriculum adaptation and continuous quality improvement (CQI). Family & Community Engagement Build strong family-school partnerships through communication, conferences, workshops, and consistent engagement. Support connections to community resources and create a welcoming, inclusive environment for families. Operations, Documentation & Technology Assist with staff scheduling, onboarding, daily operations, and training documentation. Maintain accurate lesson plans, incident reports, attendance records, and safety logs. Utilize Procare/Brightwheel, Google Workspace, and digital tools for documentation, communication, and reporting purposes. Qualifications Education & Credentials Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required Master’s degree preferred Must have prior teaching experience, including curriculum planning and implementation Professional Experience Minimum 3 years of experience in early childhood education At least 1 year in a lead teacher, instructional coach, or supervisory role in a licensed preschool or early learning program Knowledge & Skills Strong understanding of RIELDS, DCYF regulations, BrightStars, and DLT employment standards Skilled in coaching, adult learning, and staff development Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills Ability to support reflective practice, solve problems effectively, and collaborate with a diverse team Proficiency with early childhood software tools preferred (Procare, Brightwheel, GOLD) Additional Requirements 18+ years old Able to pass all required BCI/background checks CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Must meet state-required onboarding timelines Why Join Sakonnet Early Learning Center?
