About the role Assist the Director of Engineering in all aspects of hotel and building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, HVAC refrigeration, interior, paint and decorating, and respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons’ policies. What you will do Assist in the hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, counselling, and evaluation of performance and planning the activities of maintenance staff, including making spot checks on a daily basis. Ensure proper execution of the work order/request system and that items are followed up on when necessary. Prepare requisitions for purchase and work orders and liaise effectively with the Director of Purchasing. Implement preventive maintenance schedules, policies, and rules to ensure an efficient department. Maintain logs on the movement of stock items and tools, and monitor the distribution of items. Comply with and enforce Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as outlined in Empact. Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors. Ensure that meter readings are taken daily on heat, light, and review information to evaluate consumption. What you bring Actively support the Safety Committee. Support the energy conservation program, allowing the hotel to meet its annual budget targets. Maintain close working relations with hotel contractors who furnish reliable 24-hour emergency service. Assist with the maintenance of all firefighting equipment in first-class order and ensure that emergency procedures are understood and practiced by hotel staff.
