ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

  • Substantial working knowledge of Estates Operations and Facilities Management issues including building services, fire safety, asbestos, water hygiene and facilities related legislation
  • Demonstrable management and leadership skills including the ability to ensure consistency of service provision
  • Substantial Customer Service experience in a senior managerial role in a complex Estates, Facilities and Capital Development environment
  • Good working knowledge of Estates and Facilities Management issues including building services, fire safety, asbestos, water hygiene, food hygiene, and Facilities related legislation
  • Demonstrable management, leadership skills, ability and experience to ensure consistency of service provision in delivering high customer satisfaction through implementation of systems, procedures and KPIS
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build good working relationships.
  • Ability to work in a customer focused environment and make rational, considered decisions. Coordinating complex outcomes to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to engender a customer focused culture
  • Experience of developing and maintaining effective and collaborative stakeholder relationships
  • Full Member of IWFM or equivalent professional body
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Lead the strategic delivery of Estates Business Partnering at Faculty and Department levels.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Faculty Directors of Operations and Deans regarding operational Estates issues.
  • Oversee the strategic development of the Area Facilities Management (AFM) team to ensure effective campus operations and enhance the customer experience.
  • Provide leadership in the delivery of customer service excellence across all Estates operations, including an annual improvement plan developed in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Strategically manage the Teaching Space Operations team to ensure the effective delivery of centrally bookable teaching spaces and social learning spaces.
  • Drive annual projects to enhance the functionality and suitability of teaching and learning spaces, ensuring long-term operational improvements.
  • Oversee the Building Management team supporting offices occupied by the Office of the President and Provost.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment across the Estates team and other key university functions.
  • Serve as a key member of the Estates Management Team, contributing to the strategic planning and operational delivery of Estates services.
