EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Experience in hospitality, real estate, or luxury
  • Familiarity with financial reporting software (e.g., Yardi, Opera, Great Plains, BirchStreet )
  • Overseeing all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections, including credit card dispute monitoring.
  • Handling month-end and year-end close processes.Supporting the Director of Finance and performing responsibilities in the absence of dedicated staff.

  • Financial analysis and reporting skills.
  • Budget development and management.
  • Internal controls and reconciliation expertise.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.
  • Audit coordination and process documentation.Communication skills for reviewing financial statements and collaborating with department managers and residents as needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferably in a luxury hotel environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Internet software; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
