Position Title: Assistant Director of Finance
Job Overview:
The Assistant Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the company’s full-cycle accounting & financial reporting. This is an on-site, hands-on role and this individual will be a central member of our financial team and have impact on all areas of our operation.
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Required Experience:
- 5+ years of accounting experience within a luxury resort / hotel / club setting
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or Business Administration
- Licensed CPA familiar with Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI) highly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly in building efficient Excel models
- Administrator-level experience within Sage Intacct and Toast POS
- The individual must possess a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks & priorities, have strong organizational skills, and produce consistently accurate work
- Hands-on experience executing all areas of accounting
- Experience with implementing and maintaining POS and PMS systems is preferred
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and Root Cause Analysis for any system
- Ability to work independently and prioritize critical tasks
- Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior
Key Responsibilities:
This is intended to represent the key duties for this position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Guides and supports the monthly accounting close process
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Ensure financial reporting compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop annual budgets aligned with strategic objectives
- Conduct variance analysis, comparing actual financial performance against budgeted figures, by analyzing results and identifying trends
- Provide actionable & timely daily/weekly/monthly reporting that guides operational decisions (i.e. - variable labor, daily sales revenue, PMIX reporting)
- Manage & automate the AP, AR, and inventory processes
- Contribute as a business partner to each department leader, through financial guidance, to ensure near and long-term targets are achieved
- Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure financial accuracy
- Coordinate with external tax accountants during the annual filing process, providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Conduct internal audits to assess and enhance the effectiveness of internal controls, providing & implementing identified areas of improvement
- Ensure compliance and filings with local and state tax regulations (meals, lodging, etc…)
