Job Summary:
Mariner Sands Country Club is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Food and Beverage to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in overseeing all aspects of food and beverage operations including restaurant and catering events, ensuring exceptional service and quality standards are met. This role requires strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a commitment to providing an outstanding experience for our members and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Food and Beverage in managing daily operations of all food and beverage outlets.
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and service are maintained.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative menus that meet the needs of our members and guests.
  • Train, supervise, and mentor staff to deliver exceptional service and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to ensure efficient operations.
  • Implement and uphold health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Handle member and guest inquiries and complaints in a professional manner, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Assist in budgeting and financial management of the food and beverage department.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a country club or upscale dining environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage trends and best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and POS systems.
  • Culinary or hospitality degree is a plus.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 3 years of experience in the hospitality industry and/or private country club experience is preferred.

  • Event experience is an asset.
  • Minimum 3+ years in a management role with primary financial accountability.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of the food and wine industry.
  • Proven ability to adhere to budgets and meet revenue targets.
  • Must have exceptional communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technology skills including menu programming, cash, revenue and reporting.
  • Proficiency with Club Essentials Software
  • Work in a fast-paced environment.
