Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the work of employees and managers in the in the Division while ensuring exceptional service and attention to guests. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in multiple food and beverage leadership roles within a luxury, fast-paced environment. A little bit about your day: Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, every day is different, but you’ll mostly be: Provide leadership and oversight to Food & Beverage department heads and their teams. Collaborate closely with the culinary team to ensure all brand and property standards are not only met but consistently surpassed. Establish clear performance goals for the team and provide ongoing guidance to ensure objectives are achieved. Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and motivating work environment that inspires teamwork and excellence. Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring seamless service flow and full compliance with health, safety, and brand standards. Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion standards to uphold the highest level of culinary excellence. Manage inventory levels, oversee procurement, and maintain strong relationships with premium vendors. Observe and audit training programs to ensure effectiveness and alignment with brand expectations. Ensure an exceptional guest experience by maintaining impeccable service standards at all times. Address guest concerns and resolve issues promptly, professionally, and with genuine care. Ensure all training materials, manuals, and procedures meet brand approval and compliance requirements. Maintain full understanding of operational systems and technology, integrating them seamlessly into daily operations. Execute all responsibilities with poise, professionalism, attentiveness, courtesy, and a commitment to excellence. Support restaurant management teams with financial analysis, reporting, and cost control initiatives. Assist outlets in reviewing and maintaining daily labor reports and staffing efficiencies. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement, offering thoughtful and strategic solutions. Coordinate onboarding schedules and assignments for new leadership team members. Ensure all operational systems and standards are properly implemented across all outlets. Assist with recruitment efforts to maintain optimal staffing levels throughout the division. Review, refine, and oversee the implementation of training curriculums across all departments. Lead, organize, and participate in comprehensive training and development sessions. Provide hands-on support during service to reinforce teamwork and guest satisfaction. Ensure all service touchpoints and brand rituals are flawlessly executed. Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and excellence across all restaurants. Ensure full compliance with all property policies and standard operating procedures. Participate actively in weekly leadership and operational meetings. Attend and contribute to daily briefings, ensuring alignment and communication across departments. What we need from you: Minimum of three years of leadership experience, including prior tenure as a department head. Must be impeccably groomed, maintain good hygiene, and good posture, and have required uniform and tools. Previous experience in opening and launching a restaurant is highly desirable. Background in luxury hotel operations strongly preferred. Wine or spirits certifications (e.g., WSET, CMS) considered an asset. Demonstrated expertise in recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training of team members. Proven success in managing large service teams within an upscale or fine dining environment. Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret, analyze, and present key performance data. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with guests, colleagues, and executive leadership. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in alignment with the dynamic nature of hotel operations. What you can expect from us: The annual pay range for this role is $115,000.00 to $125,000.00. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at Regent Santa Monica Beach.
