We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Information Technology Office: Major Duties and Responsibilities Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (Digitalisation and A.I.), the appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: Managing the set-up of IT infrastructure for all campuses, including remote satellite offices; Overseeing the operations, maintenance and security of the University’s data centre, cabling structure, campus network, Wi-Fi, and data communication, end-point devices, computing laboratories and learning commons; Providing continuous improvement of all end-user technology services across the University; Leading the design and execution of major IT infrastructure projects, including smart campus initiatives, cloud integration and digital transformation initiatives; Managing vendor relationships, agreements and procurement related to IT infrastructure and services; Collaborating with academic schools and administrative offices to evaluate technology requirements and align solutions with University’s objectives; Providing user support on hotline and helpdesk; Leading the team and monitoring the smooth provision of IT solutions and services (e.g. software support and installation) to different Schools/Offices; Providing support to the University's committees and user groups; and Performing any other duties as assigned. Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: A recognized degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related disciplines; Substantial knowledge and experience in IT infrastructure administration and end-user service management, preferably with managerial experience in tertiary institutions; Solid and extensive experience in the management of data centers, computer centers, teaching labs, and their facilities; Relevant postgraduate and/or professional qualifications in service management and information security would be an advantage; Profound leadership, independent and proactive with good analytical and problem-solving skills; and Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficient in both English & Chinese. Responsibilities
The Assistant Director will manage the IT infrastructure setup and oversee operations and security of the data center and network. They will also lead IT projects and collaborate with various departments to align technology solutions with university objectives.
