REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an ADON or acting ADON role (desirable).
• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Strong clinical, leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• In-depth knowledge of HIQA standards and relevant regulations.
• Post-registration qualification in gerontology and/or dementia care (highly desirable).
• Must be eligible to work in Ireland.

• Support the DON in leading the clinical and strategic direction of the nursing home.
• Ensure the implementation and adherence to all policies, procedures, and HIQA standards.
• Maintain up-to-date and compliant clinical documentation, including use of Epicare.
• Conduct internal audits and spot checks with follow-up action plans.
• Oversee and manage clinical risk, complaints, and incidents with timely reporting and corrective actions.
• Act as Person-in-Charge in the absence of the DON.
• Mentor, supervise, and appraise staff, contributing to professional development and continuous improvement.
• Ensure high standards of hygiene, food safety, and resident wellbeing.
• Coordinate staff rostering and lead a professional, punctual, and dedicated team.
