ABOUT THE ROLE

Western Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing & Midwifery (Safer Care) to join our leadership team. Reporting to the Director of Nursing & Midwifery, this pivotal role is responsible for implementing frameworks and governance structures to improve care and quality outcomes for both consumers and staff. The ADONM (Safer Care) will provide professional leadership, monitor performance and data, and actively contribute to advancing safe, high-quality nursing and midwifery practice across the organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, mentor and support nursing and midwifery teams to deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based care.
  • Drive quality and practice improvement initiatives, including Medication Safety, Recognising and Responding to Acute Deterioration, and Communicating for Safety standards.
  • Provide clinical expertise, advice, and leadership across wards, units, and departments, acting as a key point of contact in the absence of the Director of Nursing & Midwifery.
  • Foster a culture of research, innovation, and continuous learning within nursing and midwifery teams.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance patient outcomes and ensure compliance with professional and organisational standards.
