Description Purpose: The Assistant Director of Brokerage Supports and Services leads the development of a cohesive brokerage team delivering individualized, person-centered supports. In collaboration with the Self-Direction Broker Supervisor, the role supports supervisory intervention, staff education, project management, and broker guidance to promote continuity of services aligned with each person’s Life Plan, Staff Action Plan, and OPWDD Self-Direction Budget. The Assistant Director leads the ongoing development of brokerage operations, ensuring alignment with AIM Self-Direction and OPWDD policies while developing internal and external trainings to strengthen brokerage knowledge and practice. This role collaborates across internal Self-Direction and external teams to ensure brokers have the tools and resources needed to implement person-centered support. The Assistant Director models AIM’s mission and core values while building leadership capacity within the brokerage team. Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in a Human Services Related Field with 2 years' experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred; OR High School Degree with 4 years' experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred Program specific training (provided) Valid NYS Driver’s License acceptable to Agency Insurance standards. Maintain valid insurance and provide insurance card if using your own vehicle. Ability to exhibit/maintain a professional, kind, courteous and patient manner at all times Complete the Broker Training Institute (BTI) and any supplemental training when offered. Effective verbal and written communication skills Reading / Math skills at a level to perform job duties Demonstrated interest and ability to make possible the personal outcomes of individuals receiving services Requirements Responsible to: Director of Brokerage Supports and Services Status: Non-exempt Essential Functions: In collaboration with the Director and Chief Strategy Officer, oversee and manage all aspects of Self-Direction brokerage services, including person-centered planning, budget development implementation and oversight. Support the growth of the Self-Direction program while maintaining person-centered practices, compliance, accurate documentation, billing integrity, and timely payment processes. Provide leadership, supervision, and role-modeling to Supervisors and Brokers in alignment with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Maintain supervisory oversight of agency-supported brokers in collaboration with the Broker Supervisor. Provide leadership oversight in the implementation of broker and AIM policies and procedures. Oversee the coordination and delivery of brokerage-related external training and collaborate on the development of training for internal and external brokers. Support broker services directly when necessary, including collaboration with OPWDD and travel throughout New York State as needed. Participate in recruitment and selection of Self-Direction brokers and promote ongoing professional development across the team. Provide guidance to brokers, in coordination with other members of the brokerage team and leadership, for continuity of services. Other Duties: Participate as an active member of the individuals’ program team and Circle of Support. Flexibility of schedule to ensure individual care and program implementation. Any and all other related duties as requested by supervisor.
