OVERVIEW OF ROLE
ILSC Education Group is one of Australia’s largest and fastest-growing language schools, known for the quality, rigour and variety of programs that are tailored to best meet international student needs and interests. The Assistant Director of Studies (ADoS) [Afternoon/Evening] plays a key role in supporting the academic management of the school, ensuring high-quality and transformative learning and teaching experiences for English language students and teachers. Reporting to the Director of Studies (DoS) and working closely with the Head Teachers, the ADoS [Afternoon/Evening] assists in upholding the ILSC mission and core values, ensuring quality and rigour in all aspects of academic operations and regulatory requirements.

The ADoS position requires constant collaboration with the DoS, Head Teachers, Teachers, ELICOS Admin Teams and Student Services Team, to maintain effective communication of ideas and decisions. The ADoS is calm, empathetic and approachable, with outstanding people skills and sound leadership skills. They will act as a leader within the academic team, guiding Head Teachers on ILSC policies, requirements, and expectations, supporting the DoS in academic operations, empowering others to develop and achieve, and inspiring progressive ideas and continuous improvement within the organisation.
The ADoS also works closely with the Academic, Admin and Student Services Teams, and, alongside the DoS, is instrumental in providing guidance and leadership in learning and teaching and academic operations. They will represent ILSC core values internally and externally, participating actively in sector Special Interest Groups (SIGs) and Communities of Practice (CoPs).
