EDUCATION

  • Minimum of a PhD or DMin in Practical Theology or a related field

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous teaching and administrative experience required
  • Ministry experience in diverse contexts required
  • Experience in a non-profit and/or educational institution prefered
  • Familiarity with intercultural competency and working with diverse people groups
  • Experience with field research (research design, research ethics, data collection, data analysis, etc.) preferred
  • Understanding of participatory action research, appreciative inquiry, or community-based research approaches preferred
Responsibilities

POSITION PURPOSE

The Assistant Director of the DMin Program is a core faculty role responsible to support the DMin Director in all his/her responsibilities in the DMin program at Tyndale Seminary. This position involves teaching and administrative responsibilities in the DMin program, and participation in academic scholarship and research. This faculty member will teach three to six courses per year focusing on practical theology at the doctoral level. They will also maintain an active research agenda, contribute to theological scholarship, provide administrative leadership to the DMin program, and participate in seminary committees and community life. Networking within the academic and church communities is essential, as is involvement in a local congregation. This position is expected to start on February 1, 2026.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching, scholarship, and service comprise the three-fold responsibilities of all faculty members at Tyndale University. Workload distribution will be negotiated based on the qualifications of the candidate.
