Eden Autism is currently seeking an Assistant Director of Training and Support to join our team! Celebrating 50 years providing lifespan services for children and adults, Eden is a nationally recognized program specializing in the support of those with profound autism. The Assistant Director of Training and Support is responsible for oversight, development, and implementation of training for Eden staff, including onboarding of new hires and ongoing professional development. In conjunction with our Outreach Department, this position also provides professional training to the public through workshop presentations and consultations. MUST HAVES Education & Certification: Master’s degree required. BCBA licensure or New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Supervisor of Instruction certification. PCM Instructor certification (must be attained within 60 days of hire). CPR instructor certification preferred. Experience: 5+ years’ experience in teaching, autism and Applied Behavior Analysis. 5+ years’ supervisory experience 2+ years’ experience in the conduct of staff, curriculum development, and program development activities and training. RESPONSIBILITY SNAPSHOT Leadership/Supervision/General Management Provide ongoing guidance, coaching, feedback and professional development; demonstrate a commitment to the highest ethical and professional behavior. Ensure confidentiality with regard to participants, families, and staff. Participate in annual program evaluations for all Eden Programs. Attend meetings as required. Training Oversee and conduct crisis management (PCM) and Entry-Level Training (ELT) for new hires, including weekends and evenings as needed (i.e., two (2) weekends per month, five (5) evenings per month and/or as needed). In conjunction with the CPO/CLO, plan, develop, implement and evaluate Eden’s Entry Level Training. Maintain orientation plan for all staff which includes core competencies, as well as information that is aligned with agency (DDD/DHS, DOE) guidelines. Coordinate training dates; ensure trainers are scheduled and all materials are ordered. Ensure timely feedback to Program and Human Resources leadership in relation to staff attendance and participation in ELT/PCM. Set up crisis management training re-certification, and re-training schedules as needed. Maintain PCM Instructor certification, and in conjunction with CPO arrange for annual instructor re-certification. Provide in-service training for School and Adult Services programs as needed. Support Services Maintain and assist with calendar management of both internal and external trainings. Provide external professional development training, and consultation for school districts as required. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Valid drivers’ license with record in good standing (less than 5 points) Physical Abilities: Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time during the workday, including bending, squatting, kneeling, stretching and stooping, and reaching above shoulder level. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to utilize and maintain physical restraint with participants as needed for up to 60 minutes. Mobility to ensure the safety of students/participants at all times. Ability to pass and maintain Professional Crisis Management Certification as Instructor (P2). Skills & Knowledge: Strong understanding and implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis and behavior modification Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of individuals. Demonstrated leadership to motivate staff and provide direction. Ability to use effective critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills. Strong organizational and follow up skills, attention to detail, and deadline driven. Intermediate to advance proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
