The Assistant Director, Private Grants plays a critical leadership role in managing the team responsible for financial administration and compliance of private grant funding. Working closely with internal finance teams, program, and development teams to ensure fiscal integrity, regulatory adherence, and effective oversight of private grant portfolios from proposal budget development through post-award closeout.
Reporting to the Managing Director, Business & Revenue Operations, you will:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field or related experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in grants management with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of fund accounting, nonprofit financial standards, and private grant funding mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex grant and contract terms and conditions.
  • Proficiency in financial management systems (e.g., Workday, or similar ERP systems).
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Deep commitment in advancing diversity and inclusion into organizational routines and practice.
  • Effectively establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and gain their trust and respect.
