Assistant Director of Radiology, Full-Time Days
The Assistant Director Radiology at the University of Chicago Medicine in Hyde Park will work under the general direction of the Director of Radiology and will provide specialized qualitative/quantitative reports to the Chair, Vice Chair, Executive Director and other Radiology managerial staff. Has a broad set of responsibilities for coordinating and managing various clinical functions, operational units, and key diagnostic support services within the Department of Radiology.
The Assistant Director of Radiology works to enhance and strengthen the quality of clinical services, patient and referring physician satisfaction, as well as the financial well-being of the Department of Radiology. Translates organizational vision into the management, development, and implementation of programs and projects. This oversight includes mentoring modality managers and providing direction in the day-to-day operations of all areas under their direct responsibility. This position contributes to the development of the Radiology capital budget and including renovation, construction and installation projects within the Department and requiring close interaction with the Hospitals Department of Facilities, Design and Construction.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in business management or health care (hospital) administration.
  • 5 years of leadership experience, strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to effectively participate in the planning, organization, and operation of a large, diverse, and technically complex business unit/department/division
  • Proven success in managing budgets, staffing allocations, quality controls, process improvement, equipment operations, and educational programs
  • Successful track record in establishing credibility with medical staff through high quality service, timeliness, and performance
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a collaborative manner with faculty, staff and administration.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of staff within the Hospital and Biological Sciences Division.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
