Description
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Safety sub-team.
Advise and educate AAD leadership in effective safety management practice.
Champion the promotion of a positive safety and risk culture.
Proactively engage, communicate and influence the broad range of internal and external stakeholders involved in the AAP, to drive continuous improvement in strategic WHS outcomes.
Write papers and briefs on significant WHS matters.
Brief the AAD Division Management Committee and other governance bodies on significant WHS matters.
Assist the AAD to fulfil its WHS governance obligations as relates to WHS risk management and statutory compliance.
Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the AAD Fatal Risk Management Program.
Monitor the AAD fatal risk profile and facilitate the biannual review of the AAD fatal risk register.
Lead the maintenance and continuous improvement of the AAD WHS Management System and facilitate the annual management review.
Lead AAD major incident investigations in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Track and report on AAP incident related corrective actions.
Manage AAD Safety Improvement Plan projects.
Manage AAP WHS audit and assurance activities.
Oversee and mentor Station WHS Officers.
Undertake the ‘Safety Advisor’ role in the AAD Incident Management Team (IMT) process as directed by the IMT Manager.
Provide expert advice to stakeholders on WHS matters, and/or source expert advice as required.
Participate in the onboarding and training of expeditioners including but not limited to Expeditioner Summits and Assessment Centres.
Take reasonable steps to complete such professional development as required to ensure currency of knowledge in WHS philosophy, systems of works and technologies.
Manage other safety initiatives and actions as directed by the Director Safety & Risk.
