THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF STUDENT ENGAGEMENT ASSISTS IN THE OVERALL COORDINATION AND SUPERVISION OF THE STUDENT ACTIVITIES PROGRAM INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, WEEKLY EVENING EVENTS, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SERIES, FIELD TRIPS, CAMPUS-WIDE COLLABORATIVE PROGRAMMING AND EVENTS DEMONSTRATING A COMMITMENT TO THE CORE VALUES OF FLAGLER COLLEGE.

Supports programming efforts under the direction of the Director of Student Leadership & Engagement through the following:

  • Leadership development program
  • Student belonging programming
  • Collaborative programming with other Student Affairs offices including health and wellness, housing operations and residential living, campus recreation and career development
  • Student leadership conference
  • Family Weekend
  • On and off campus programming and field trips

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • An understanding of and commitment to student belonging
  • Ability to understand the needs of students
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with students, faculty, and staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong management and organizational skills
  • 1-2 years’ experience in student activities, leadership development and/or campus programming. Student affairs experience with an emphasis on student development strongly preferred1 or more years of advising students on personal and academic matters

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time and occasionally walking and standing.
  • Climbing, walking, crouching, repetitive motions, and ability to communicate appropriately with students/colleagues. Occasional hours outside the normal College work day to attend events, specifically nights and weekends.
