Elora Distilling Company is a distiller-led award winning grain to glass distillery located in picturesque Elora, Ontario founded in 2020. We ferment, distill, blend, and package on site a variety of premium spirits and liqueurs with an emphasis on using local ingredients whenever possible. In 5 short years, we have won multiple awards for the quality of our spirits and our contributions to local tourism and culture and have experienced consistent, year over year sales growth.
As we continue to expand, we are looking to add a new distiller to help us increase our production schedule. We are looking for a hard working, responsible individual who can grow with our distillery.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Distilling, Brewing, or other food and beverage production background - formal educational training or comparable work experience strongly preferred for this position.
  • Motivated, positive attitude and the ability to interact with co-workers in a professional and team-oriented manner
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • An understanding of mixology, sensory evaluation, and basic food science is an asset.

  • Comfortable working in both hot and cold environments
  • Able to carry up to 50lbs and stand for long periods of time.
  • Compliance with internal health & safety and regulatory compliance requirements

Responsibilities
  • Preparing raw ingredients for processing
  • Operating and cleaning our manual bottling system
  • Spirit blending by following recipe formulation sheets
  • Creating washes for vodka, rum, and whiskey
  • Operating our stripping still, finishing still, dedicated gin still, and research stills
  • CIP of stills, fermenting vessels, and alcohol tanks
  • Safe handling of high proof alcohol
  • Operate and troubleshoot minor issues with our boiler, pumps, and glycol cooling system
  • Calculate and track volumes for CRA and Excise duty purposes through the use of a calibrated hydrometer and thermometer
  • Cask management and maintenance
  • Ensure a safe, clean working environment. Clean up spills, avoid creating trip hazards, and communicate any potential issues to other team members.
  • Guide distillery tours and tastings, participate in distillery events
  • Use and operation of forklift. Will certify.
