In this role, you will support the entire facilities divisional refrigeration by assisting in the maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems, addressing issues, making budget decisions, leading and training associates, and overseeing maintenance and service. Additional responsibilities include:
- Supporting the strategic and tactical direction provided by the divisional refrigeration manager on HVAC and refrigeration systems for all existing stores and liquor stores in the division.
- Addressing current issues with leadership support while considering the impact of decisions on maintenance, service, and replacement of these systems.
- Making and executing decisions, up to and not exceeding $5,000, pertaining to the budget, schedule, and quality execution of the team’s objectives in support of retail operations
- Assisting the divisional refrigeration manager by leading, managing, mentoring, and training divisional refrigeration associates
- Providing technical oversight for an entire facilities divisional refrigeration team on the maintenance, service, and replacement of all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration systems and/or components
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree in business, sciences, or related field or equivalent experience and HVAC trade school completion OR
- Equivalent combination of formal training/certification and professional work experience that demonstrates the prerequisite competence to perform the duties of this position
- 5 years of field experience in supermarket refrigeration service
- EPA Universal License or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Knowledge of supermarket refrigeration installation, repair, and maintenance best practices
- Knowledge of commercial HVAC repair and maintenance best practices
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience with direct reports
