Role Summary To work under the direction of the Electrician / Chief Electrician to support the maintenance and repair of the rig electrical equipment and systems. The Assistant Electrician carries out any preventative and corrective maintenance as directed and in accordance with Borr Drilling Policies and Procedures. The Assistant Electrician provides support to the Electrician / Chief Electrician in ensuring all electrical equipment and systems remain functional throughout operations so as to minimize downtime. Responsibilities Safely and efficiently perform all duties assigned by the Electrician / Chief Electrician or other supervisor Ensure all operations are carried out in a safe and conscientious manner and responsible for correcting or notifying responsible persons of any unsafe acts and/or conditions which exist Actively participate in and contribute to pre-shift and Toolbox Talk meetings; Observation program, weekly or special operations safety meetings and ensure any concerns or issues are reported appropriately Demonstrate a personal commitment to Borr Drilling’s QHSE Management System; ensure compliance with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), i.e. Risk Assessments etc. Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of Company’s Integrity Management System and ensure understanding and application of updates, changes and working instructions Assist with maintenance and repair activities of electrical equipment and systems onboard the rig to support the execution of planned and unplanned maintenance in accordance with the Company’s Maintenance Management Plan Assist with conducting diagnostic tests and troubleshooting system faults and failures of mechanical equipment and systems onboard the rig Ensure all lock-out tag-out procedures are followed and all hazards and risks are identified prior to starting any work on electrical equipment Assist Electrician / Chief Electrician with third party equipment inspections as required Ensure Borr Drilling personnel and subcontractors are aware and use the Permit to Work system in place on the unit Ensure care and routine maintenance of all tools and equipment provided for company use and return all equipment to proper storage location and service/replace as necessary Assist Electrician / Chief Electrician in all emergency situations as directed by the operations manual, emergency response plan and the Station Bill Ensure clear and comprehensive handovers are communicated to relief personnel Ensure all reports (Borr Drilling’s, Client’s, etc.) are completed in a timely manner and are accurate and legible Entries on Permits, isolation tags and unit logbooks accurately reflect status of equipment Personally achieve and maintain required standards for own training and competency requirements for job role Perform other duties, complete additional tasks and support ad hoc projects as required Work with assigned assessor to complete Borr Competence Management System “BCAMS” and where necessary, identify any areas for development. Provide demonstrable evidence to complement the assessor outcomes Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Familiarize with Borr Drilling QHSE procedure to understand the responsibilities assigned to your position and comply with the same Abide and promote Borr Drilling Life-Saving rules at all times You have the authority and responsibility to STOP any job that is unsafe Actively participate in Borr Drillings Behavior Based Safety (BBS Card) program You have the responsibility to report any unplanned event to your supervisor immediately Ensure you understand your responsibilities during an emergency and participate in all emergency drills You have the responsibility to keep your work area safe at all times Qualifications and Experience Vocational Electrical Qualification or equivalent experience at Company’s discretion Offshore Medical Certificate BOSIET OPITO (or equivalent) CompEx or Equivalent (Region specific) Experience Experience of electrical maintenance operations ideally on offshore drilling units Ability to understand and interpret line diagrams and technical drawings Effective communication skills Fluency in written and spoken English required Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to follow directions Working knowledge of QHSE practices common to the industry Familiar with application of the QHSE Management System and continuous improvement Attitude & Behaviour Ensure good communication is adhered to with all rig personnel Represent the Company in a professional manner both on and off the job to include confidentiality of Company and Client business Model Borr Drilling’s Core Values of honesty, integrity, safety, environmental stewardship, respect and performance About Us Borr Drilling deliver high quality drilling operations in hydrocarbon basins around the world.
