Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will support a variety of engineering projects through the design, planning, and execution phases. Your contributions will be essential to ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in civil engineering and related disciplines while working alongside experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with project scheduling and management to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Draft and design project schematics using software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.
  • Conduct construction inspections to verify compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Support project engineers in estimating, resource allocation, and construction planning.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including reports, drawings, and proposals.
  • Use GIS tools such as ArcGIS for mapping and spatial analysis to support project development.
  • Apply hydraulics and geotechnical principles in project design.
  • Contribute to the design of water treatment, wastewater treatment, and pipeline systems.
  • Participate in land surveying to gather essential data for project planning.
  • Assist in developing construction management strategies to improve efficiency and project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (preferred).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation).
  • Familiarity with construction management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of GIS tools (ArcGIS).
  • Strong understanding of construction inspection processes and standards.
  • Ability to perform engineering-related calculations; experience with Mathcad or similar tools is a plus.
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with teams and clients.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hydraulic modeling software (HEC, SWMM).
  • Background in geotechnical assessments, surveying, or water systems design.
  • Previous involvement in civil or construction engineering projects.
