We’re seeking an Assistant Engineering Manager to support our Chief Engineer in maintaining a safe, efficient, and beautifully maintained resort environment. What You’ll Do Lead & Inspire Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing daily engineering and maintenance operations Train, mentor, and coach engineering team members to drive accountability, growth, and engagement Lead by example with professionalism, integrity, and a solutions-focused approach Provide leadership coverage across shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations Hands-On Engineering & Maintenance Assist with planning and executing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime Perform and oversee repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance Support basic IT and A/V troubleshooting as needed Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas Assist with capital projects, renovations, and special maintenance initiatives Safety, Compliance & Organization Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment Ensure compliance with OSHA, life safety standards, company policies, and local/state/federal codes Assist with safety training, inspections, and compliance documentation Systems, Inventory & Vendors Manage work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and reporting using a CMMS Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and inspections Assist with tracking expenses, managing inventory, and supporting department budgets Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and vendors to ensure quality and safety standards Requirements What We’re Looking For Required: High school diploma or equivalent 3–5 years of progressive engineering or maintenance experience At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals Basic to intermediate computer skills, including CMMS or work order systems Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts Physical ability to perform hands-on work and lift up to 50 lbs Preferred: Technical or vocational certification in engineering, HVAC, or a related field Experience in a resort, hotel, hospitality, or commercial environment CMRP or CMRT certification Why Join Us?
