VANRATH are recruiting an Assistant Estimator to work for a leading façade contractor, based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The business is looking for an Assistant Estimator with the desire to work for an ever-expanding company, and the drive to not only grow their individual knowledge and experience in the industry, but to use those skills to be a pivotal part of the company’s growth.
The Assistant Estimator will work both individually and as part of a team, taking a tender from initial enquiry to final submittal. The successful person will apply a high level of consideration and care to provide a professional standard of work.
This is an excellent opportunity that will enable you to learn from internal experts and attend various training courses to further expand your skills.

Responsibilities

· Preparing tenders, estimates and cost plans all while meeting the clients timeframes
· Understanding architect drawings/specifications
· Preparation of costs sheets, including quantity take-offs, and the completion of project BOQ
· Final submission of the project estimate and supporting documentation
· Develop relationships with suppliers in order to assist with cost requirements
· Identifying value engineering opportunities in order to keep quotes competitive
· Managing your time in such a way that you meet agreed deadlines
· Communicating with clients on tender status
· The responsibility of presenting project handover meetings
· Maintain accurate information regarding suppliers, sub-contractors & clients
· Working closely with the design team to navigate any flaws/improvements and assist with potential solutions
· Regular communication with company quantity surveyors to ensure the project remains efficient and cost effective
