The Assistant Estimator will support the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. This role involves analyzing project specifications, collaborating and building relationships with subcontractors, and assisting in the preparation of bids and proposals. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for the construction industry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related construction field (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience in construction estimating or a related role is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in gathering and reviewing project plans, specifications, and other documentation.
  • Conduct takeoffs from drawings and specifications to determine material and labor costs.
  • Collaborate with senior estimators to prepare cost estimates and bid proposals.
  • Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and scope of work.
  • Analyze historical data to forecast future project costs and performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and changes throughout the bidding process.
  • Participate in project meetings and site visits as needed.
  • Support the estimating team in developing project schedules and budgets.
  • Assist with the preparation of bid documentation and submissions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and best practices.
