Position Description: This position supports the day-to-day maintenance and operation of all racquet sports facilities, including tennis, pickleball, and bocce. This role works closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure that all court surfaces and surrounding areas are maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality, and presentation. The Assistant Facilities Manager plays a hands-on role in executing maintenance tasks, assisting with special projects, and supporting vendor coordination as needed. This position may work weekends Essential Job Functions: Lead by example andpromote the Seabrook Core Values, Characteristics, Employee Constitution and Decision Making. Assist with the daily maintenance of all court surfaces: brushing, watering, rolling, line cleaning, and trash/debris removal Perform routine inspections of court conditions, fencing, irrigation, lighting, and windscreens Support seasonal tasks such as top-dressing, clay court scarification, line taping, pressure washing, and hard-court cleaning Operate and maintain equipment such as maintenance cart, blowers, rollers, line machines, and hand tools. Help monitor and track inventory of court supplies and materials Assist during tournaments, events, and high-traffic programming days to ensure timely and efficient court prep Follow all safety guidelines and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling machinery or materials Assist in coordinating outside vendors and contractors as needed for facility-related projects or repairs Communicate effectively with the Facilities Manager regarding supply needs, equipment issues, or facility concerns Maintain a clean and organized work area, including storage sheds, tool areas, and utility spaces. Complete any other tasks as assigned by the Director of Racquet Sports and the Facilities Maintenance Manager. Requirements Education: A High School diploma and 1–3 years of experience in court maintenance, landscaping, sports turf, or facility operations. Skills: Organizational, communication and customer services skills required. Familiarity with clay surfaces preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment and hand tools. Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Supervisory Responsibilities: None Equipment to be used: Must be able to operate computer and other routine office machines. Must be able to operate and drive golf/tennis cart, hydraulic court rolling machine, various small court tools and machinery, and handle chemicals and herbicides. Ability to operate and make basic repairs to court irrigation system. Typical Physical Demands: Position requires ability to endure outside climate and conditions on a year round basis, lift up to 80lbs. Long periods of standing, reaching, bending and lifting and a normal range of hearing and vision as well as the ability to remain on your feet for extended periods of time required. Requires the ability to function professionally in an environment that is both physically and mentally challenging.
