Summary The MIL Corporation is seeking an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) (Facility Security, Analyst) to assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in the development, implementation, and maintenance of security procedures as required by the Cleared Facility, the Department of Defense (DOD), the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), the DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (CAS), and the National Industrial Security Manual (NISPOM)/32 CFR Part 117. This position currently requires a hybrid schedule with 4 days on-site. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements. Responsibilities Support the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in administering a comprehensive security program in compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM) for a Top Secret-cleared, possessing facility Administer personnel security functions, including initiation, processing, and tracking of clearance investigations using NBIS and DISS Review and validate SF-86 submissions and SCI nomination packages for completeness, accuracy, and adjudicative risk indicators Conduct initial, annual, refresher, and termination security briefings, as well as ongoing security education and awareness programs Maintain accountability, control, and safeguarding of classified information up to the Top-Secret level, including document control, marking, storage, reproduction, and destruction Assist in managing classified holdings, inventory, and secure transmission in accordance with NISPOM requirements Support insider threat program activities, including reporting, training, and coordination with Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO) Assist with self-inspections, vulnerability assessments, and preparation for Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) security reviews and audits Coordinate visit requests, certifications, and access control for cleared personnel and visitors Create access badges for employees Maintain security files, logs, and records in compliance with federal requirements and company policy Provide day-to-day security guidance to employees and management regarding classified handling, incident reporting, and compliance requirements Assist with investigations and reporting of security incidents, violations, and suspicious contacts Travel Approximately 10% as needed Required Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting a NISPOM-compliant security program as an AFSO, CPSO, or in a related security role Working knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), including requirements for possessing facilities and Top Secret safeguarding Hands-on experience with NBIS, DISS, and eApp Experience processing personnel security clearances and reviewing SF-86 documentation Ability to interpret and implement U.S. Government security policies and apply them in an operational environment Strong understanding of classified document control, safeguarding, and accountability procedures Proficiency in Microsoft Office and security databases/systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and function effectively in a team environment Completion of required security training (e.g., FSO Program Management Course for Possessing Facilities or equivalent) Desired Qualifications Completion of FSO Program Management Course for Possessing Facilities Experience working in a Top-Secret possessing facility environment Experience maintaining classified holdings, conducting inventories, and preparing classified shipments Familiarity with DCSA inspections, self-inspection programs, and compliance audits Experience supporting an Insider Threat Program Experience as a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) or Assistant CPSO in a Special Access Program (SAP) environment Knowledge of additional security disciplines (e.g., COMSEC, OPSEC, INFOSEC, or Physical Security) Experience developing and delivering security training programs Education Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience in industrial security or classified program support may be substituted for a degree on a year-for-year basis. Completion of security training courses through the Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) or equivalent is desirable. Clearance All applicants for this position must possess a current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance; please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL’s complete compensation package.
