Job Purpose:
To support the Farm Manager in all aspects of field operations for soft fruit (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries), cherries, and asparagus, ensuring efficient crop production, labour management, and compliance with health and safety standards. This is a hands-on role involving active field work in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in the day-to-day planning, supervision, and management of fruit and asparagus production.
· Oversee seasonal teams during planting, harvesting, packing, and crop maintenance activities.
· Monitor crop health and quality; assist with pest and disease control as directed.
· Ensure irrigation, fertilisation, and harvesting are carried out on schedule and to required standards.
· Support the Farm Manager in maintaining accurate records of labour, inputs, and yields.
· Operate and care for farm equipment and machinery as needed.
· Work closely with agronomists and follow technical guidance to maintain high crop quality.
· Enforce and promote farm health & safety and food safety standards.
· Step in to cover responsibilities in the absence of the Farm Manager.
Person Specification:
Essential:
· Basic experience in agriculture, ideally in commercial horticulture.
· Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions with tasks involving bending, lifting, and extended periods on foot.
· Ability to learn quickly, follow instructions, and take initiative.
· Good level of conversational English (speaking and understanding).
· Full UK Driving Licence (Category B).
Desirable:
· Russian language skills (advantageous due to seasonal worker team composition).
· Any relevant agricultural or horticultural qualifications.
· Experience with soft fruit, cherries, or asparagus cultivation.
· PA1, PA2, or PA6 spray certificates (training can be provided if not held).
Training & Development:
Full training will be provided depending on your experience.

Working Hours:
- October – March: 35-40 hours per week, 5 days/week
- April – September: 45–60 hours per week, 6 days/week
- Some weekend cover required.
