Job description: JOB DESCRIPTION Job title: Assistant Fencing Site: Kansanshi Mining Plc Department: Risk & Asset Management Section: Fencing Position reports to: Team Leader Purpose The Assistant, Fencing is responsible for supporting the Fencing Section within the Risk and Asset Department through the maintenance of the mine lease perimeter fence, upkeep of offsite mine properties, execution of cold burning activities, creation of fire breaks, and bush clearing. Key Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections of the mine lease perimeter fence to identify damages, weak points, or potential security risks. Carry out minor repairs such as straightening fence posts, replacing wires, and reinforcing damaged sections. Support maintenance of fencing infrastructure on offsite mine-owned properties to ensure security compliance. Report any breaches, vandalism, or unauthorized access to the team leader, Fencing. Assist in implementing corrective measures to prevent repeat incidents. Carry out bush clearing along the fence line and surrounding areas to ensure visibility and prevent security blind spots. Operate or support the operation of bush‑clearing equipment (e.g., brush cutters, slashers) as assigned. Dispose of vegetation following environmental and safety guidelines. Follow all safety procedures, including wearing correct PPE and adhering to KMP safety protocols. Report hazards, environmental risks, and incidents promptly. Ensure all work complies with the company’s risk management and asset protection standards. Provide timely updates to the supervisor regarding progress, challenges, and material requirements. Properly handle, store, and maintain tools and equipment. All academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA). Qualifications Grade 12 Certificate Experience 2 years experience in fencing installation and maintenance Cold burning and bush clearing BEHAVIOURAL TRAITS Initiate and achieve results Ability to work under pressure Ability to work with end-user Dedicated team member, Self-driven personality with strong customer service Analyse and solve problems Ability to self-study on new technology and methods.
